Rosemary Howard to head AGSM Executive Programs

12 November 2007

The Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales today announced the appointment of Rosemary Howard as Executive Director of AGSM Executive Programs and Conjoint Professor. Rosemary Howard was formerly Chief Executive of TelstraClear in New Zealand and Managing Director of Telstra Wholesale in Australia.

Professor Alec Cameron, Dean of the Australian School of Business said: “Rosemary Howard has impressive leadership and management credentials at the highest levels of business in Australia and New Zealand. I’m confident she is the ideal person to capitalise on the prestigious reputation and strong growth of AGSM Executive Programs and take the business to the next level.

“AGSM Executive Programs is a valuable and growing area of focus for the Australian School of Business. We have been delivering executive development programs to business and government in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region for the last thirty years and are ranked amongst the world’s very best,” says Professor Cameron.

Rosemary Howard, an AGSM alumna, said she is very excited about her new role. “I am delighted to be joining AGSM Executive Programs at this time.
As globalisation increases, the skills shortage intensifies and the workforce ages, organisations are increasingly recognising the need to improve the skills and productivity of executives and retain talented staff.

“AGSM Executive Programs delivers life long learning to individuals and organisations through open and customised in-house programs. Business views executive education as a way of both enhancing the capabilities of employees and retaining them in a highly competitive market for talented people.

“I am particularly keen to deepen our relationships and partnerships with clients and explore innovative and flexible ways of working with them for mutual benefit. I am also looking forward to extending our relationships with alumni and enhancing their lifelong learning opportunities,” says Rosemary Howard.
