Graduation heralds arrival of exceptional new AGSM alumni

322 highly qualified executives will become members of AGSM’s prestigious Alumni Association when they graduate on June 1, 2007. Two ceremonies will be held at UNSW’s Clancy Auditorium - one at 10:30am and the other at 2:30pm.
Professor Richard Henry, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) at UNSW, will present the Testamurs to graduands at the first ceremony, and David Gonski AO, Chancellor of UNSW, will present Testamurs at the second ceremony.
Rod de Aboitiz, a 2004 MBA (Executive) alumnus and current President of the AGSM Alumni Board, will speak at the 10:30am ceremony. Mr de Aboitiz is Chief Financial Officer of Abacus Property Group.
David Chia, Associate with McKinsey & Co, is speaking at the 2:30pm ceremony where he will graduate with an MBA (Executive). Mr Chia will be awarded the Chairman’s Prize, for his outstanding corporate leadership and management capabilities.
Professor Alec Cameron, Dean of the Australian School of Business at UNSW, congratulated the graduands, and said: “I have met many of our graduands during their course and have been impressed by their talent, commitment to excellence, and vision for the future. I hope that their achievements at AGSM are the building blocks for future success.
"An AGSM degree is an asset that draws its value from our world-class research and teaching and the high calibre of AGSM’s alumni community.
"Our new graduands join AGSM’s alumni community of nearly 12,000 influential business and government leaders in 68 countries worldwide. They are also joining the 60,000 strong alumni community of the Australian School of Business at UNSW. The School's highly respected alumni are in key positions around the world, particularly North America, Europe and Asia,” Professor Cameron said.
Refreshments in the Scientia will follow both AGSM graduation ceremonies.
