Greg Cartan has twenty-five years experience in training and education and management consultancy. He has worked for the Federal and State public service, has held academic positions in four Universities, and is Director of his own consulting business.
His academic career has involved curriculum design and program delivery for the following institutions:
- Australian School of Business, AGSM MBA (Executive) Program,
- International Graduate School of Management (University of South Australia),
- Graduate School of Management (University of Adelaide), and
- Department of Law, University of Newcastle.
Post –graduate subjects taught include People Management, Managing Change, Approaches to Change, Systems for Change, Leadership, Management, Business Law, Interpersonal Skills, Contract Law, and Legal Studies.
He has published in academic and professional journals, and has written several book chapters, including Vilkinas, T. & Cartan, G. (1991) Problem-based Learning. in Smith, B. Management Development in Australia, HBJ: Sydney, and Cartan, G. & Vilkinas, T. (1991) Environmental and Cultural Forces. in Hearn, G. Southey, G. & Vecchio, R.(edt) Organisational Behaviour: Life at Work in Australia. HBJ: SYDNEY.
He has been the recipient, as principal co-researcher with Professor Vilkinas, of over $120,000 in research grants to explore the nature and effectiveness of leadership in organisations.
