Tony Brennan

Tony is an Adjunct Professor at Murdoch Law School and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and has practiced with one of Australia's largest private law firms as a solicitor in the area of corporate advisory, mergers and acquisitions and banking and finance. Having worked for local and state government bodies, Australian blue chip companies and national and international banks, Tony has experience in corporate banking and finance transactions including development finance and refinance transactions, infrastructure and project finance, loan facility and security documentation, general corporate banking matters and significant commercial property transactions. The projects he has been involved with range from tunnels, gas pipelines, international cruise ship terminals, agricultural projects and energy and resource projects.

Tony is a member of the Mining Law committee and Oil & Gas committee of the International Bar Association and is also one of the few Australia lawyers to have studied Capital Market Development and Regulation; Arbitration & Dispute Resolution and Debt Rescheduling with the Paris Club through the United Nations Institute of Training and Research.

Tony has contributed 60,000 words to a leading Australian text book on company law for business and commerce students. Tony contributed to chapters covering historical development of company law, administration and regulation of company law, registration and types of companies, corporate liability, management of companies, duties of directors and other officers, member's meetings, member's rights and remedies and non profit associations.

In addition to this, Tony is a former facilitator for the Australian Institute of Company Directors prestigious Company Directors Course as well as a regular presenter on corporate governance issues for not-for-profit boards.

Tony is a director and Fellow of the Western Australian Institute of Dispute Management, Fellow of the Trisakti Arbitration Institute in Indonesia, Chairman of the Breast Cancer Foundation of WA and non-executive director of Phosphate Resources Limited.
