| 2. | As Mac IE is no longer supported by Microsoft, we strongly advise Mac users to move to a more capable browser on that platform. |
| 3. | Internet Explorer 7 may not be fully compatible with all components of the AGSM website. |

Cookies
The AGSM web systems have extensive security features and may store small files, called "cookies" on your computer. These cookies are read by secure servers at the AGSM to authenticate access to a number of AGSM systems. The cookies do not collect any information about you, or how you are using your computer and only serve to ensure that you have identified yourself with the correct username and password. When you close your browser or log off our systems the cookies are automatically cleared from your system.
PDF Attachments
This web site uses Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Reader software. Where a PDF extension is presented you will need Acrobat(R) Reader to view the file.

Pop-ups
Many options within the Single SignOn feature require pop-ups from the AGSM website to be enabled.
How do I enable pop-up windows?
You can set AGSM as a trusted pop-up site using the following steps:
Internet Explorer 6
1. Select the “Tools” menu from the top of your browser window.
2. Select the “Pop-up blocker” option > “Pop-up Blocker Settings…”
3. In the “Address of Web site to allow “ type in *.agsm.edu.au
4. Click Add and click Close.
Firefox
1. Select the “Tools” menu from the top of your browser window and select the “Options” option.
2. If "Block Popup Windows" is ticked, click on the "Allowed Sites" button.
3. In the “Address of web site” type in signon.agsm.edu.au
4. Click "Allow" and click "Close" buttons.
Netscape 7.2
1. Select the “Tools” menu from the top of your browser window.
2. Select the “Manage Pop-ups” option with “Pop-up Manager”
3. In the “Address of web site to allow” type in *.agsm.edu.au
4. Click Add and click OK
Also check that any other 3rd party Pop-up or other blocking software such as – Yahoo Companion bar, Google Search bar, or PithHelmet is configured to allow access to all AGSM sites.
Case Sensitive Username and Password
Username and Password are case sensitive (e.g. "m" & "M" are not considered the same). Be careful that you do not accidentally turn on the "Caps Lock" (capital letter lock) button.
0 & O, l & 1: The number "0" (zero) and the capital letter "0" look alike and can easily be misread if you use these in your password, be careful. Similarly the number "1" (one) and a lower case letter "l" (L) may look alike.
Time Zone and Correct Time
Because the system has a time-out feature, which is linked to our servers, the time on your computer is important and needs to be reasonably accurate (say within 5 minutes). You also need to ensure that your computer's time zone (eg Sydney, Perth, London etc) is correct. Unless your computer's time and time zone have been set properly Single SignOn will not work. In most windows systems the time can be seen at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, double clicking on this time will usually open a window allowing you to check and change you time and time zone settings.
Seeing My Menu
After signing on through Single SignOn, you can return to your My Menu page by clicking on the My Menu or My Homepage links on the top of every AGSM web page. Your Menu is displayed on the right side of your Homepage.
Time Out
Because Single SignOn allows automatic access to secure systems without having to re-identify yourself you should not leave your computer unattended while logged on. As a precaution the system will "time you out" after 60 minutes, after this time you will need to retype your password.
Logoff
The logoff menu item will close all browser windows opened by Single SignOn and prevent other people from using your access if you leave you computer unattended.
Online Payments with ANZ eGate
AGSM uses ANZ eGate secure server for Online Payments.
- The eGate system can be used with Internet Explorer, Firefox and Netscape on a Windows PC, and Firefox on a Mac.
- A broadband connection is desirable to prevent timeouts with ANZ.
