The research feature includes an update on the Accelerated Learning Laboratory, which is fast tracking a new breed of business leaders to meet the challenge of filling the leadership gap. The feature also includes the latest on customer satisfaction; supply chain design; environmental accountants and sexual harassment in the workplace.
The second feature celebrates the success of AGSM’s community of students, alumni, academics and business leaders by profiling some of our community members who have been honoured this year through awards and prizes.
This is a very exciting year for us as we integrate AGSM and the Faculty of Commerce and Economics to form the Australian School of Business™.
The Australian School of Business is the largest and most prestigious business school in Australia and leverages the world-class research and teaching strengths of both AGSM and the Faculty of Commerce and Economics.
We have very close relationships with the business community and an Advisory Council comprising over 40 of Australia’s most senior leaders from business and government.
This year we launched a new School of Strategy and Entrepreneurship to continue AGSM’s general management teaching and research. The School will focus on innovation and entrepreneurship as a subject within general business. The School is headed by Associate Professor Peter Murmann.
Christopher Witt was recently appointed as the inaugural Director of our proposed Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. The Centre will draw together UNSW's efforts in the areas of entrepreneurship and innovation, and co-ordinate university research and sponsorship efforts in these areas.
Our vision is to be the leading centre for business education and research in the Asia Pacific region. I am confident we have the fundamentals in place to achieve this vision. We have the region’s top researchers in each of the key business disciplines and the nation’s best business educators.
I look forward to seeing you at our events during 2007.
Regards
Professor Alec Cameron
